Corrective Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic & Physiotherapy for Scoliosis in Singapore

Chiropractic and physiotherapy for scoliosis correction at ScolioLifeScolioLife is a scoliosis-focused clinic in Singapore that brings chiropractic care and scoliosis physiotherapy together within a single, structured correction programme, directed by Dr Kevin Lau (Doctor of Chiropractic, RMIT, Australia)*. Most patients with scoliosis are asked to assemble their own care — a chiropractor for the joints, a physiotherapist for the muscles, and a separate provider for the brace, none of whom speak to each other. At ScolioLife, every element is coordinated under one clinical plan with one measurable goal: improving the spine in three dimensions, not simply easing the symptoms it produces.

This integration is not improvised. Dr Kevin Lau trained in Schroth Best Practice® under Dr Hans-Rudolf Weiss — grandson of Katharina Schroth — as well as the Pettibon System and the CLEAR™ Method, before integrating these disciplines into the proprietary ScolioLife Method. Drawing from both the physiotherapy and chiropractic lineages of scoliosis-specific care is precisely why the two work here as one programme rather than as competing appointments.

Why Combine Chiropractic and Physiotherapy for Scoliosis?

Scoliosis is a three-dimensional rotation of the spine, so a one-dimensional approach rarely holds. Chiropractic care addresses joint mechanics, mobility and the pain that comes from compensating around a curve. Scoliosis-specific physiotherapy (the Schroth method / PSSE) retrains posture, breathing and the muscular control that keeps a correction stable over time. On their own, each discipline manages only part of the picture. Sequenced together — mobility first, then active muscular re-patterning, then bracing to hold the gain — they reinforce one another. That integration is the point; combining the two is not a marketing add-on, it is how a correction is made to last.

How ScolioLife Integrates Both Disciplines

  • verifiedOne director, one plan — your chiropractic and physiotherapy are designed and reviewed by Dr Kevin Lau, so the two never pull in different directions or duplicate work.
  • verifiedScoliosis-specific physiotherapy — we use Schroth-based, three-dimensional exercise (PSSE), not generic core or stretching routines, to re-pattern the curve.
  • verifiedChiropractic for mobility and comfort — targeted to restore joint movement and ease the pain that often brings adults through the door, supporting the corrective work rather than replacing it.
  • verifiedThe ScolioAlign™ 3D brace — unlike rigid hospital braces that aim only to stop a curve from worsening, ScolioAlign™ is an over-corrective design built to actively work towards reducing the Cobb angle. Individual results vary.
  • verifiedNutrition and supporting equipment — targeted nutritional support and home equipment address the underlying factors in spinal imbalance, so progress is supported between visits.
  • verifiedA 20-year, published track record — Dr Lau is a pioneer of non-surgical scoliosis correction with over two decades of clinical experience and published books on the subject.

Who This Programme Is For

It is most relevant for parents of adolescents who want to explore every non-surgical option before considering spinal fusion, and for adults living with pain or a curve that has progressed later in life. Australian patients fly direct to Singapore Changi from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth in 7–8 hours. If you have a recent X-ray, our team can review it as the starting point for a personalised plan.

When ScolioLife May Not Be the Right Fit

For severe curves at or beyond the surgical threshold, or for red-flag symptoms that need urgent medical attention, surgical or hospital-based care may be more appropriate. We will tell you honestly if that is the case rather than enrol you in a programme that is unlikely to help.

Why Patients Choose ScolioLife®

  • verifiedA third path beyond “wait and see” or surgery — the ScolioLife® Method pairs the ScolioAlign® over-corrective brace with scoliosis-specific 3D exercise rehabilitation in one integrated programme.
  • verifiedPublished outcome data — review our 86% success rate and exactly how it is measured. Individual results vary with age, curve type and compliance.
  • verifiedOne doctor-led methodology, three clinics — Singapore (Orchard Road), Kuala Lumpur and Surabaya, all led by Dr Kevin Lau, D.C., M.H.N., with 25+ years focused on non-surgical scoliosis care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is chiropractic or physiotherapy better for scoliosis?

Neither on its own is complete. Chiropractic addresses joint mobility and pain, while scoliosis-specific physiotherapy (Schroth/PSSE) re-trains the posture and muscular control that hold a correction. ScolioLife combines both within one programme so they reinforce each other rather than compete.

Can chiropractic care correct scoliosis on its own?

Chiropractic alone can improve mobility and reduce pain, but it is not designed to re-pattern a three-dimensional curve. Lasting change for scoliosis generally requires scoliosis-specific exercise and, where indicated, a corrective brace — which is why ScolioLife integrates all three under Dr Kevin Lau. Individual results vary.

How is the ScolioAlign™ brace different from a Boston brace?

A rigid hospital brace such as the Boston brace is designed mainly to stop a curve from getting worse. ScolioAlign™ is an over-corrective 3D brace designed to actively work towards reducing the Cobb angle, and is used alongside exercise rather than in isolation.

Do I need a referral or an X-ray to start?

No referral is needed. A recent spinal X-ray is helpful because it lets our team review your Cobb angle and curve pattern before your first visit, but you are welcome to book a consultation first and arrange imaging afterwards.

Where is the ScolioLife clinic in Singapore?

Our Singapore clinic is at Tong Building, 302 Orchard Road. Both the chiropractic and physiotherapy elements of the programme are delivered here under Dr Kevin Lau.
