Just received an update from a mother who did their annual review at KK hospital for their 11-year-old daughter’s scoliosis. She couldn’t get a copy of the xrays but was able to take a photo from the specialist computer monitor. Two x-rays are shown, one taken on the 8th July 2019 and the latest one taken on 31st January 2020. Her scoliosis went from 20 degrees to 1 degree in the top of her spine (thoracic) and from 13 degrees to 6 degrees on the bottom curve (lumbar). In 5 months her spine is cleared of scoliosis!
All measurements were done by the attending specialist in the hospital. As can be seen, the best results are when parents are proactive and seek therapy while the curve is still mild and easier to manage.
Unfortunately, a majority of cases I see on a regular basis are cases who have been recommended surgery looking for alternatives. Any signs of scoliosis should start our non-surgical scoliosis therapy as soon as possible for the best outcome.
We thank the mother for letting us use her daughters xrays!
